POWYS COUNTRY HOUSE, STAR RATING 4 **** Terry & Toni Edwards purchased Powys Country House in July 2006. it has since been extensively modernised and refurbished to provide a very comfortable, homely, five bedroomed guest accommodation. Powys House will be open from April to November. There are also 1 & 2 bed holiday cottages to let, open all year round. Opening in 2009, there will be a 3 bed cottage adapted for disabled/wheelchair bound guests. The main guest house and cottages are situated within three acres of grounds, some of which are lawns and seating areas, for our guests to enjoy. We have a grass tennis court and a giant size chess board, BBQ area.There is also access to the river Dee through our paddock. There is plenty of off road parking, making an ideal venue for groups such as canoeists, cyclists, motor bikes, ramblers. Powys guest house can accommodate max 15 people, cottages up to 10 people. Guest Accommodation provides: Beautifully appointed guest lounge with Sky freeview television & video. Lounge overlooking landscape gardens making it ideal to relax and take in the views. Guest dining room is beautifully decorated with spectacular views of the gardens and surrouding hills. Bedrooms on first floor- Room 1 King-size and a single bed, room for a camp bed.(Family Room) Room 2 Twin Room. Room 3 Double bed. Second Floor- Room 4 King-size bed. (Room for a single or camp bed). Room 5 Single bed. (Room for camp bed or bunk beds) Rooms 4 & 5 are ajdacent to each other on the second floor making them ideal for family use. All rooms have en-suite shower rooms, Sky free view / video or DVD / tea coffee making facilities / hair drier / cot available / high chair / Iron & board available on request. All rooms are very comfortable, decorated and equipped to a very high standard. Powys House & cottages have a non smoking policy. Breakfast is served from 8.00 - 9.30 am in the dining room. Earlier breakfast by arrangement. We serve full Welsh breakfast using only local produce and fresh eggs from our own chickens. Special diets catered for. Although we do not offer evening meals, we can recommend several eating places locally. Powys Country House is well situated for sightseeing with Snowdonia National Park within a 1 hour drive. Llangollen with steam trains, canal boats, river walks, restaurants, shops are only 8 miles from Powys House. There are water sports available in nearby Llangollen and Bala. Lakes, mountain ranges, castles and national trust properties all within a short drive from here. Powys house is very centrally located for sight seeing all over North Wales.
